History of Mohenjo-daro:  Mohan Jodro is a very famous place that comes to Sindh province of Pakistan. At this place some remains of the Indus culture have been found. Mohan Jodro is one of the oldest cities in the world.

Mohan Jodado’s name is included in the largest cities of the Indus culture. The Indus culture is also recognized by the Harappa culture name. Mohan Joddo, Lothal, Kalibangan, Dholavira and Ashigadhi come in the main cities of the Indus culture.

For the first time in 1911, archaeologists visited the place of Mohan Joddo. After that the work of the excavation began. The first excavation started in 1920 and it continued till 1931. Remains of the city of Mohan Jodado were found in 1921. And all were surprised to see it. Later, excavation work continued again from 1950 to 1964.

Evidence of archeology can be said that Mohan Jodro had developed very much during the pre-2500 (5000 years ago). People of that time lived in cities and their culture and people were alive for thousands of years.

The entire city was constructed on the slopes of the soil, due to which the city was above the height of the land. The city area was spread over 250 acres of land. It means that there is no such belief in this big city that happened in the period 2500 to 1900 BC. It has also been found in the excavation that the place of bath and large buildings which were in the vicinity of the city was found in the topmost part of the clay mold.

But our people did not know so well and developed culture so far. There were two main reasons for such a large development of those people. Because of those two talks, those people had made a lot of progress. They had good land which was easily found on the banks of the Indus river. And the second thing is their trade. They used to trade with Mesopotamia people.

When this excavated the Mohan Jodro city, a special thing came to light that there were no palaces, temples, and memorial monuments found. One thing that gives the evidence to us by history tells us that there was no existence of any king, queen or any government in the Mohan Jodaro. The people of this region preferred governance, humility and goodness, and its concrete evidence is also found in history. Ceramics, copper and stone were also used on the scale made on crafts and utensils.

During the excavation of this city, a number of murtiyas have been found, in which a famous dance girl’s bronze statue was found, and some men also got the statue. The work of carving on the idol of all the men has been done. They are all colorful. Some believe that the idol of a man is of the king, and others believe that it is the maturity of sculpture and metallurgy.

History has not yet reached any conclusion that how such a great city ended. The end of this city is due to the crisis of possessions such as floods or any earthquakes. Or the people of other countries did not destroy all the people here by attacking the city.The answers to all these questions do not even exist in history. It was surprising for everyone to have had such a developed city in such an old time.
